بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
Brief circumstances of the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)
(Ninth year of migration)
Hatim Tai's daughter and son are Muslims
In Rabi-ul-Khar, the Holy Prophet (sws) sent one hundred and fifty horsemen under the command of Hazrat Ali (ra) in order to demolish the idol house of the tribe "Tai". When they reached the city of Fils, they demolished the shrine and seized some camels and goats and arrested some women and brought them to Madinah. Among the prisoners was the daughter of the famous Sakhi Hatim Tai.
Hatim Tai's son Adi bin Hatim fled to Syria. When Hatim Tai's daughter was presented to the Prophet, he said: O Messenger of Allah! I am the daughter of Hatim Tai. My father died and my brother Uday bin Hatim left me and ran away. I am weak. Please be kind to me. God will be kind to you.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) left them and gave them a camel for the journey. After becoming a Muslim, she went to her brother 'Uday ibn Hatim and informed him about the Prophet's morality and praised the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) very much. Uday ibn Hatim was greatly impressed by the great manners and noble character of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and came to Madinah without asking for peace.
People reported in the court of Prophethood that Udai bin Hatim had arrived. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) graciously took the hand of Uday ibn Hatim in his hand and said: O Uday! What did you run away from? Will you run away saying La ilaha illa Allah? Is there a god other than God? Uday ibn Hatim said, "No." Nawaza
Hazrat Uday bin Hatim was very generous like his father Hatim. Hazrat Imam Ahmad narrates that when someone asked him for one hundred dirhams, he got angry and said that you only asked me for one hundred dirhams. You do not know that I am the son of Hatim. By God! I will not give you such a small amount of money.
They are very wonderful companions. In the caliphate of Siddiq Akbar, when many tribes withheld their zakat and many became apostates. He participated in the conquests of Iraq and other Islamic jihads as a mujahid and passed away at the age of one hundred and twenty years in 9 AH.
