The Battle of Tabuk
Tabuk is the name of a place between Madinah and Syria, which is fourteen miles from Madinah. Some historians say that "Tabuk" is the name of a fort and some say that "Tabuk" is the name of a spring. Maybe all these things exist! This battle took place in the days of severe famine. Long journeys, hot weather, less rides, difficulty in eating and drinking, the number of troops is very high, so in this battle the Muslims faced great hardship and hardship. That is why this battle is also called "Jaish-ul-Asrat" (the army of narrow-mindedness) and since the hypocrites had to bear great shame and embarrassment in this battle. For this reason, it is also known as "Ghazwa Fadha" (Disgraceful Ghazwa). All historians agree that the Holy Prophet (sws) left for this expedition on a Thursday in the month of Rajab.

Cause of the Battle of Tabuk
The Ghassani dynasty of Arabia, which ruled Syria under the influence of Caesar Rome, because it was Christian, Caesar Rome used it as its tool and decided to invade Medina. So the merchants from Syria used to come to Madinah to sell olive oil. He reported that the Roman emperor had amassed a large army in Syria. And this army includes all the Arabs of Lakhm and Leprosy and Ghassan tribes besides Romans. The news was widely circulated throughout Arabia, and the Romans' anti-Islamic rhetoric was no secret, so there was no reason to dismiss it as misleading. Therefore, the Holy Prophet (sws) also ordered the preparation of the army.
But as we have written, there was a severe famine in the Holy Hijaz at that time and it was very hot. For these reasons, it was difficult for people to leave their homes. The hypocrites of Madinah, whose hypocrisy had been exposed, used to avoid joining the army and forbade others as well. But in spite of this an army of thirty thousand gathered. But for all these Mujahideen, arranging rides and supplies was a very difficult step because the people were very poor and distressed due to the famine. Therefore, the Holy Prophet (sws) asked for troops and financial support from all the Arab tribes. In this way, the tradition of donating for one's good was established in Islam.

Army Preparation
Until now, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to prepare the expeditions with utmost secrecy. Even the Islamic soldiers did not know at that time where to go. But on the occasion of the battle of Tabuk, everything was arranged publicly and it was also said that Tabuk was to be marched and jihad was to be waged against the armies of Caesar Rome so that the people could prepare as much as possible.
The Companions, as has been written, generously donated, but still the rides could not be arranged for the whole army. So many Muslim veterans could not take part in this jihad because they did not have the means to travel. If there is no riding, then these people wept over their helplessness in such a way that the Holy Prophet (sws) took pity on their sighs and restlessness. Thus the Qur'an bears witness that
(Surat at-Tawbah) Translation
And it is no harm for them that when they come to you (O Messenger) ask them to give us a ride, and you say: I do not have anything to ride you, so they go back and tears flow from their eyes. Unfortunately, we do not have the money.
