Umm ul Momineen Hazrat Umm Habiba, may God be pleased with him

Her real name is "Ramlah". She is the daughter of Makkah chief Abu Sufyan bin Harb and her mother's name is Safiya bint Abu Al-Aas, who is the paternal grandmother of Hazrat Uthman, the Leader of the Faithful.

She was previously married to Ubaidullah bin Jahsh and both husband and wife accepted Islam and both migrated to Abyssinia.  But upon reaching Abyssinia, her husband Obaidullah bin Jahsh was so unlucky that he apostatized from Islam and became a Christian, and he died of Christianity while drinking alcohol.

Ibn Sa'd narrated from Hazrat Umm Habiba (RA) that she had a dream one night in Abyssinia that her husband Ubaidullah bin Jahsh's face suddenly became very ugly and disfigured.  Gone.  When the morning came, she suddenly saw that her husband Ubaidullah bin Jahsh had apostatized from Islam and accepted the Christian religion.  This misfortune did not listen to him and he died in the state of being an apostate, but Hazrat Umm Habiba, may Allah be pleased with her, remained steadfast in her Islam.  Nazq was greatly shocked and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Hazrat Amr bin Umayyah Zamri (RA) to the King of Najashi of Abyssinia to console him and wrote a letter saying that you should become my lawyer with Hazrat Umm Habiba.  get married.

When Najashi received this decree of Prophethood, he sent one of his special maids named "Abraha" to Hazrat Umm Habiba (RA) and informed her about the message of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).  Hazrat Umm Habiba (RA) was so happy to hear this good news that she gave some of her jewels to Abraha Londi as a reward for this good news and to Hazrat Khalid bin Saeed bin Abi Al-Aas (RA).  His uncle's son was sent to Najashi as a lawyer for his marriage. Najashi held a marriage meeting in his royal palace and invited Hazrat Jafar bin Abi Talib and other companions who were in Abyssinia at that time.  He was called in the assembly and after reading the sermon himself, in front of everyone, he married the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, with Hazrat Bibima Habiba, may Allah be pleased with him, and paid a dowry of four hundred dinars from himself.  It was handed over to Saeed.  When the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, started getting up from the assembly of this marriage

[15/08, 10:34 p.m.] A Farooq 0313: And all the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with them, left for their respective homes after eating their fill, then Najashi, along with Hazrat Shahrabeel bin Hasna, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, took Hazrat Umm Habiba, may Allah be pleased with him, to Madinah.  He was sent to serve and Hazrat Umm Habiba (RA) entered the Haram of the Prophet and received the prestigious title of Umm al-Mu'minin.

Hazrat Umm Habiba (may Allah be pleased with her) was the owner of a very pure character and good qualities, a very high courage and a generous nature, and she had a very strong faith.  When his father Abu Sufyan was in a state of disbelief and came to Madinah to renew the Peace of Hudaybiyah, he went to his house and sat on the Prophet's bed.  Hazrat Umm Habiba, may Allah be pleased with her, did not care about her father at all and raised her father from the bed saying that this is the bed of prophethood.  I can never accept that an unclean polytheist sits on this pure bed.

Hazrat Umm Habiba, may Allah be pleased with her, has narrated sixty-five hadiths from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, of which two hadiths are found in both Bukhari and Muslim books, and one hadith is narrated by Muslim alone.  The rest of the hadiths are contained in other books of hadith.  Among his students, his brother Hazrat Ameer Muawiya and his daughter Hazrat Habiba and his nephew Abu Sufyan bin Saeed are very famous.

He died in Madinah in 44 AH and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi in the house of the pure wives.
