بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
Umm ul Momineen Hazrat Safia, may Allah be pleased with her
Her real name was Zainab. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) named her Safia. She is the daughter of Hayy bin Akhtab, the chief of the Jewish tribe of Banu Nadir, and her mother's name is Zara bint Samuel. This family is one of the descendants of Aaron, the brother of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) from the Children of Israel and their husband Kanana bin Abi Al-Haqiq was also the chief of Banu Nuzair who was killed in the battle of Khyber.
When the Muslims conquered Khyber in Muharram 9 AH and all the prisoners of war were captured and gathered together, then Hazrat Dahiya bin Khalifa Kalbi came to the Prophet's house and asked for a slave girl. He said, "Take one of these captives of your choice." They took Hazrat Safia (RA) but one of the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah (SAW)! Their family honor requires that you include them in your marriage. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took her from Hazrat Dahiya Kalbi (ra) and gave her another slave girl in return, then freed Hazrat Safiyya (ra) and married her. On his return from Khyber, for three days in Manzil Sehba, he exalted him with his closeness inside his tent and at the feast of Wilayah, he fed the Companions a rich meal of dates, ghee and cheese, which was mentioned in detail in the battle of Khyber.
According to the narration of Tirmidhi, one day the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw Hazrat Safiyya weeping. He asked her why she was weeping. Hazrat Ayesha and Hazrat Hafsa have said that we are both more honored than you in the court of Prophethood because our family meets the Holy Prophet. Hearing this, the Holy Prophet (sws) said: O Safiyya! Why didn't you tell them how you two could be better than me? Hazrat Haroon (as) is my father and Hazrat Musa (as) is my uncle and Hazrat Muhammad (as) is my husband.

He has also narrated ten hadiths from the Holy Prophet (sws), one of which is in both Bukhari and Muslim books and the other nine hadiths are in other books.
There is a difference in the year of his death and Aqdi says that he died in 5 AH. And Ibn Sa'd has written that he died in 5 AH. At the time of his death, he was sixty years old. He was also buried in the famous cemetery of Madinah, Janat al-Baqi.
